Choosing your Buff HD Foundation Shade

Hi ladies,

After my posts throughout the week, A lot of you have been in touch regarding choosing the right shade with Buff Makeup. And without seeing you face to face it can be quite hard for me to judge. So I am putting together this little blog on the shades and describing them as best I can to help you out as I know that most of my followers live over here in the Wild West and it's not possible sometimes to get to Dublin to swatch them yourself or even put your trust in ordering your shade online.

Just a little background on the foundation itself, it's a HD Liquid Foundation, Oil free & says that it suits all skin types. In my personal opinion it sits better on normal or oily skin types better than dry, But that's not to say you can't use it if you have dry skin just make sure to moisturise well before you apply & wear a primer too!

The coverage is flawless! The texture of the foundation is light but gives a medium to heavy coverage on the skin without you looking "caked"  I find I still need concealer though afterwards for undereyes, redness etc. but that's no problem I'm used to it by now!

The finish is a sheer finish so your left with a luminous type glow on your skin.

Top Tips for Brown Eyes

Brown eyes are an eye colour that nearly every colour suits from the lightest Golds to the Darkest Smokey colours

1.Metallic and shimmery textures help illuminate brown eyes.
2.Wear colours opposite to brown on the color wheel such as blues, teals, greens, and purples
3.For a natural look use eye makeup in complimentary warm tones, like chocolate browns, gold, honey and caramel. They help enhance the warmth of brown eyes.
4.Apply warm shades of blusher to the apples of the cheek to reflect and enhance your eyes.
5.Opt for a pop of colour on the lip and keep eyes neutral.
6.Cool tones like blue really compliment a brown eye! To add a bit of colour use a blue mascara or liner instead of black.

Contouring & Highlighting

Contouring is a really important part of your make up routine not only does it enhance your features it also adds dimension to the face.

Here are my main tips but I have attached a photograph with the different face shapes that give a few extra pointers. (Please excuse the really bad colouring in, please dont copy this on your face hehe)

First step to contouring is bronzer!!!
I use MAC Harmony, or the Contour Palette from Sleek & Blank Canvas.
Apply your Contouring Powder
1.Under the apple of your cheek bone diagonally or parallel to your jaw line to make your cheekbones pop.
2.On the sides of your nose from the bridge coming straight down. This will make it look longer and thinner. Make sure to blend
3.On your jaw line and under your chin will make a round face look more elongated and thinner.

The main thing with bronzer is blend blend blend and use sparingly.

The second step is highlighter!!

When the highlighter catches the light, your face appears subtly chiselled and more defined and can give a lovely glow to your skin.
I use an Urban Decay eyeshadow for this ‘sin or bootycall” Mac Strobe Cream (before foundation) or Mac Soft and Gentle .
1.Add a touch of highlighter to cheek bones, your chin and the temples
2.Dab a small amount on the cupids bow.
3.Lightly dust down the bridge of your nose with a fantail brush
4.Use under the eyebrow and to bright eyes dab a small amount in the corner of the eyes.
